Itinerary:

Day 1: Fes ➝ Ifrane ➝ Azrou ➝ Midelt ➝ Ziz Valley ➝ Erfoud ➝ Merzouga

Depart Fes early in the morning and travel through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and continue to Azrou, famous for its cedar forests and Barbary macaque monkeys.

Drive through Midelt and the picturesque Ziz Valley, passing palm groves and traditional Berber villages. Arrive in Erfoud, known for its fossils and date palms, before reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

In the afternoon, enjoy a sunset camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes, then settle at your Berber desert camp for dinner and traditional music under the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert Exploration ➝ Khamlia Village ➝ Rissani

Wake up early for a spectacular sunrise over the Sahara Desert. After breakfast, explore the desert and nearby areas:

  • Visit Khamlia Village, known as the village of Gnawa music

  • Optional 4×4 excursions to remote dunes and desert oases

  • Experience the local Berber nomadic lifestyle

In the afternoon, visit Rissani, a historic caravan town with vibrant souks and traditional markets.

Day 3: Merzouga/Rissani ➝ Todra Gorge ➝ Dades Valley

After breakfast, depart for Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon with towering cliffs ideal for walking and photography.

Continue through the scenic Dades Valley, known for its winding roads, red rock formations, and traditional Berber villages. Stop at viewpoints along the way to capture breathtaking landscapes.

Day 4: Dades/Todra Valley ➝ Ouarzazate ➝ High Atlas Mountains ➝ Fes

After breakfast, drive through Ouarzazate, visiting the Taourirt Kasbah and optional film studios. Continue your journey via the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and stopping at Berber villages for photos.

Arrive back in Fes in the evening, marking the end of your 4-day Moroccan desert adventure.
