3 Days Tour from Fes to Sahara Desert

Day 1: Fes ➝ Ifrane ➝ Midelt ➝ Ziz Valley ➝ Erfoud ➝ Merzouga

Depart Fes early in the morning and travel through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Continue through the cedar forests, home to Barbary macaque monkeys, and enjoy panoramic views of Berber villages along the way.

Drive through Midelt and the lush Ziz Valley, passing palm groves and desert landscapes. Arrive in Erfoud, known for its fossils and date palm oases, before reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Enjoy a sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, then arrive at your desert camp. Experience a traditional Berber dinner and music, and spend the night under the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert ➝ Khamlia Village ➝ Todra Gorge

Wake up early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Sahara. After breakfast, ride camels back to Merzouga.

Depart for Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon with towering cliffs ideal for walking and photography. En route, visit Khamlia Village, also known as the village of Gnawa music, and enjoy local performances.

Continue your journey through the scenic Dades Valley, stopping to admire the breathtaking landscapes.

Day 3: Todra/Dades Valley ➝ Ouarzazate ➝ High Atlas Mountains ➝ Fes

After breakfast, depart toward Fes, passing through the famous Ouarzazate region and the Skoura Oasis. Drive across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying spectacular panoramic views.

Arrive back in Fes by evening, concluding your 3-day desert adventure with memories of the Sahara, mountains, and Moroccan culture.
