Itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech ➝ High Atlas ➝ Ait Ben Haddou ➝ Draa Valley ➝ Zagora Desert
Your journey begins early in the morning as we depart Marrakech and head south through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy panoramic views, mountain villages, and the winding roads of the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m).
Our first major stop is the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the most famous ksar in Morocco, featured in films like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Mummy. Explore the ancient fortress, learn about its history, and admire its breathtaking scenery.
After lunch, we continue toward Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and then travel through the palm-filled Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s most beautiful landscapes.
By late afternoon, we reach Zagora, where your camel caravan awaits. Enjoy a peaceful sunset camel trek across the rocky desert before arriving at your Berber camp.
Spend the evening enjoying a traditional dinner, local Berber music, and a sky filled with stars.
Overnight: Berber Desert Camp in Zagora
Day 2: Zagora ➝ Draa Valley ➝ Ouarzazate ➝ Marrakech
Wake up early to witness a stunning sunrise over the desert, then enjoy a hearty breakfast at the camp. Afterward, ride your camels back to meet your driver.
We begin our return journey through the Draa Valley and pass again through Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah or take photos of the film studios (optional).
After lunch, we cross the High Atlas Mountains and arrive back in Marrakech in the early evening, marking the end of an incredible 2-day desert adventure.
